Aktuelle Bedingungen

Atlantic disturbance fronts are repeatedly pushing from the west toward the Alps these days. In the Alpine region, a predominantly southern flow component prevails, which is expected to bring heavy precipitation to the southern side of the Alps over the course of the week. North of the main Alpine ridge, conditions remain largely dry due to southerly foehn effects. However, current forecasts suggest that the southerly foehn may temporarily collapse between Thursday and Friday, allowing some precipitation from the south to spill over to the northern side of the Alps. During this period, temperatures will briefly drop, and the snow line will lower to approximately 1500 meters above sea level. For the Easter holidays, a quick return to a warm foehn-induced southern flow with plenty of sunshine is anticipated.
„As a meteorologist in the region, I am not only very familiar with the small-scale meteorological particuliarities that distinguish the Arlberg region from other regions, but also with the demands that locals and guests place on a regional weather report.“
